Garry Dimeck BTP MRTPI
Garry has more than 25 years town planning experience in a variety of public and private sector planning roles across the UK. Through Garry’s work at a senior level for local authorities in both Scotland and England, a range of large scale housing, commercial, tourism, leisure and farm diversification projects have been handled through to decision. A practical knowledge of planning policy, environmental law and landscape guidelines has been constructively applied often working in areas of environmental sensitivity. Garry is experienced in public engagement, committee presentation, and the full range of planning appeal work which has included court proceedings, hearing advocacy and planning expert witness roles. Before establishing his consultancy, Garry worked as the planning manager for a thriving renewable energy company successfully delivering planning permissions for farmers, landowners, and community groups. His time in local government has provided Garry with extensive experience of the planning application process, with all its formalities, and an awareness of the factors which influence decision making. Garry’s private sector work has meant that, as a user of the planning system, he has developed a full appreciation of the need to remove uncertainty; avoid vagueness and deliver construction projects on time and on budget. Garry has a keen interest in design, sustainable development and the environment and is nearing completion of his own straw bale house self-build, having subjected his family to the obligatory caravan accommodation on-site! GD Planning Ltd are pleased to use this experience to help you achieve a positive planning outcome for your own future plans. |
